From Surviving to Thriving: Helping Clients Uncover Their Authentic Self

My Philosophy: Reduce to Reveal

I believe therapy is not about fixing you or turning you into someone new. It is about understanding the experiences, relationships, expectations, and survival strategies that shaped you, and gently deconstructing what no longer serves you.

Much like Michelangelo’s idea of revealing what is already within the marble, our work together is about uncovering what has been obscured by trauma, shame, insecurity, conditioning, and the role assigned to you in childhood. My role is not to tell you who to become, but to help you understand who you are innately, challenge what keeps you stuck in survival, and create the space for your authentic self to emerge, be embraced, and fully actualized.

I provide individualized, trauma-informed counseling for children, adolescents, adults, and couples navigating a wide range of emotional, relational, developmental, and life challenges.

Whether you are working through trauma, ADHD or neurodivergence, grief, anxiety, identity development, relationship difficulties, or a major life transition, therapy can offer more than symptom relief. Together, we can develop greater clarity and emotional freedom while creating meaningful change in the way you think, feel, relate, and move through the world.

My Unique Approach

Understanding Your ‘Why’ to change your ‘What’

My approach is grounded in trauma-informed care, with Psychodynamic Therapy and DBT as my primary approaches, informed also by Attachment Theory, I-CBT, PolyVagal Theory, The Gottman Method, and Bowen Theory. Together, these approaches honor the individuality, development, and experiences that shape us.

Psychodynamic work helps us understand your ‘Why’: how your history and relationships shape the patterns you carry today. DBT gives us the ‘What’: practical tools to create emotional, cognitive, behavioral, and relational change in the present.

I believe therapy requires more than insight and validation. Understanding yourself matters, but learning to live differently is where transformation begins. I offer empathy and gentleness while lovingly challenging the patterns and blind spots that may be keeping you stuck.

At the heart of my work is a belief that healing is often reductive rather than additive. Rather than constructing an entirely new identity, we can gently deconstruct the layers of shame, trauma, insecurity, conditioning, and survival strategies that have obscured who you are. Together, we can explore how the very coping mechanisms that once kept you safe may now keep you stuck, making space for self-acceptance, adaptation, and your authentic self to emerge and truly thrive.
